🇬🇧 Identity Between Construction and Deconstruction: Being in the Present Moment
In the first moment of waking, before we reach for the phone or planner, we are completely deconstructed. There are no titles, no roles, no social scripts. There is only pure breath, the pressure of the body against the mattress, and the bare feeling of existence.
With the first movement and gesture, we are in the present moment. But already with the first step out of bed, our mind begins to jump. Obligations, plans, fears, and expectations create a vast construction of what we think we must be in order to live through the day and have value.
With a breath, an awareness for peace, and the will for a smile, we open windows and doors to the possibilities of coexistence of being, to the foundations.
The Burden of Construction Through the Day
With this heavy armor and restless mind, we sit with our first glass of water or first morning coffee. We arrive at work, and eventually at our activities. We try to function through constructions we have built ourselves or that have been imposed on us.
But tango and life do not tolerate constructions. Our body and mind, under this pressure, become rigid and easily breakable. A mind burdened with calculations and analysis of steps loses contact with the ground, and with it, with its own essence.
Deconstruction and Reconstruction for the Present Moment
Tango is a return precisely to that morning, stripped state. It requires complete deconstruction, and then reconstruction — the removal of layers of false security and social masks.
Through conscious support of the foot on the ground and the pulse of breath spreading through the pelvis, we peel away everything unnecessary. We return to that first, primordial movement.
Only then, when the mind calms its jumps and descends into the body, do we achieve pure being in the present moment.
When construction is released, and deconstruction strips us down to what we truly are, our inner gears realign in the rhythm of compassionate synchronization.
Then we no longer play roles.
We become movement.
We become life.
With open eyes and free breath.
